Making Progress!

No one can ever say we are afraid of color!  The Grand Piano Room is 2/3 painted and it is BLUE!  My Sister-in-Law described it as the color of painters tape and she is not that far off.

Huge change...right!?!  I love how it makes the white molding POP.  And I love how it changes the feel of the entire first floor.  It really brings life and fun to the space and tones down the blahness (yes, that is a word) of the other rooms.  It is like a giant accent wall for the first floor!

Next step, after we finish painting, is some accent pillows for the chairs.  I also bought some floating shelves to hang in the corner over my desk for some fun accessories.  I want to use both white and darker wood finishes to tie in the molding and furniture.  So my eyes are peeled and the hunt is on.  I made a trip to Goodwill yesterday but didn't find anything good.  Can I mention that my local Goodwill was closed for a week to "remodel".  So when I walked in yesterday I was expecting something new and fun but I think all they did was put a new coat of grey on the walls.  It totally made me laugh.  But anyways...

I am still undecided on if the Asian hutch will make its way back into the space.  It is one of my favorite pieces we have but I felt like it made the room feel cluttered.  (Check it out below. And yes that is the same space that is now bright blue.  WOW, it looks different!)  But my husband says he loves it there so I just don't know.  I need your advice!  What do you think?  This is critical to the happiness of my marriage (just kidding)!
