I'm Bored

Don't be fooled by the title, I am not bored.  I have a to-do list a mile long and my DIY room project is creeping along much slower then I had hoped.  So then what the heck do I mean.  Well, today I am going to share with you a wonderful parenting miracle...and my miracle is named Kerrie.  Kerrie is a a parent coach, licensed therapist and a mother.

I first met Kerrie a few months back.  My wonderful perfect little girl had just thrown her very first (and I'm sure not last) full blown temper tantrum.  I mean on the floor kicking and screaming can't breath full melt down.  It left my husband and I just slightly tramitized and that is when he mentioned Kerrie.  The hubby knew Kerrie from high school and knew that she is great at what she does so we emailed her and in one sentence she brought me back down to planet earth.  "This is totally normal."

Since then Kerrie and I have kept in touch emailing, sharing parenting gold and chatting about our blogs.  And although this is slightly off topic for Mission Decorate I just couldn't keep her from you any longer.

Today on parentcoachsf Kerrie wrote a special post just for us...I'm Bored.  I don't know about you, but with winter just around the corner I just don't know how I will keep my daughter occupied.  But Kerrie to the rescue!  She is full of great ideas including last minute crafty projects.

So, I know you have a few extra minutes today.  Why not ease your worries with Kerrie's quick tips!  Also here are a few items you can stock up on at the dollar store for those stuck inside winter days...

~ Pipe Cleaners ~  Make animals, letters, jewelry, bubble blowers!
~ Coloring Books ~ Did you know you can buy coloring books for $1...what a steal!
~ Colored Paper & Glitter Glue ~ Can you say refridgarator art.
~ Milar Balloons ~ Yep, they have these for one buck and kids just love them!  Why not surprise the kids by bringing them each home a balloon.
~ Glow Sticks ~ Another kid favorite!  Just turn out the lights and play basement tag.
