The Art of the Gallery Wall

A Gallery Wall can capture your attention with drama, art, fun and family all at once.  It can pull creativity and personality together in a way I adore

Like this beauty (above) from Pure and Lovely. Or this (below) from the absolute in gallery wall creating, Pottery Barn.

Wood Gallery Single Opening Frames

This was just posted on Young House Love (one of my favorite daily readers).  I love the way it utilizes an often forgotten space.  I feel like these details really take a home to the next level of lovely.  See for yourself...

This small space at the top of the stairs is simple, clean and wonderful.  Don't you think?!?!

The true beauty of a gallery wall is it can be pulled together from treasures you already have.  The frames don't need to match.  The more textures and colors the better.  You can use art, photos, pictures your kids colored, menus, mirrors, anything your creativity comes up with!  You will often see black & white pics used as they come together most easily.  But this is not a rule just a tip!  Look at this wall from The Nester...

I have just started working on a gallery wall in our front hallway.  My husband and I love photography so I am slowly collecting some of our favorite shots we have taken over the years to create our wall.  I am putting it together piece by piece, slowly filling the wall.  As I go I find the more the better.  At first I was afraid to much would be to much but now that I have the big pieces up I see that in some cases more is better!  I need the smaller pieces to fill the holes and complete the space.

I also wouldn't mind one of the large lanterns from the Pottery Barn pic to go on the table.  Anyone feel like buying me a gift!?!?
