Some Left Over!

April has come and gone and it is still cold in Madison.  The sun is shinning today but it was 30 degrees when I woke up this morning.  And I am SO over it!  Everyone keeps raving about how wonderful summer is here but I feel like it may never come.  You may see me in the front yard doing a "hot weather dance" any day now.

But now that it is May I need to do a quick wrap up of my $250 Challenge.  I set out on April 1st with $250 in an envelop.  This $250 had to get me through the month and cover all the projects I had planned;  shelf accessories, dinning room table decor, dinning room pant, plates and wall hangers and a few other items.  And I did it...with some left over!

Let's break it down...

I started in the dinning room with this great vase I found at Marshalls.  I filled it with flowers from Michaels costing me a grand total of $38.88.  I just love it!

I put together this shelf display with a metal sign from World Market, a tin from my favorite tea company and some other items I had around the house.  So I spent $12.99 to finish off these shelves!  The month is looking good so far.

My next project was toy storage for the family room.  My house is slowly being taken over by toys so it was time to do something about it.  And it was an easy fix with some baskets from World Market and a $10 off coupon.  The coupon is still around and good thru May 8th!

I was also able to finally track down more bulldog clips to finish off my menu wall.

The final project was the dinning room paint color and plate wall.  I picked up 8 plate hangers for $27, but the paint has not been so simple.  I picked out one color but then decided I didn't like it.  We put another sample on the wall this weekend, but still haven't decided if we like it.  So far we have spent $26.14 on paint but have yet to pick a color.  Ugh!  So I am sure we will end up spending more money on it before we figure it out but oh well, it is worth a few extra bucks to get it right.

So let's see, put everything together and the grand total comes to...drum roll please...$153.58. WOW!  I did a good job!  Almost $100 left over.  I am rich!   Which only means more fun in May!

Thanks for following me on this Challenge.  It was actually really fun and I recommend you try it out.  Look at your budget, pick an amount, put it in an envelop and make it happen!
