I Bought a Sewing Machine!

I love to decorate but I have always felt like I was missing my true calling...sewing.  I love the detail, measuring, calculating and precision needed to sew.  My personality is all about accuracy so sewing was made for me.  And if you know anything about me you also know that I am full of crap right now!  All those things I just listed are exactly why I don't sew!  So what in the heck am I talking about?  Well...I did buy a sewing machine.

My husband and I have been on the hunt for bedside tables for awhile now and the other day we were at our favorite antique shop helping my mom pick out a trunk / coffee table for her new apartment (which is looking fab, by the way) and we saw the perfect thing...

Gorgeous, right!  But when my husband went to open the "drawers" to make sure they worked we realized they weren't drawers at all.  It was a door hiding this...

A fully working World's Rotary sewing machine!

How cool is that!  It was priced at $60 and we just couldn't pass it up.  It is the perfect height and width for the space and if we get the urge to make a pillow in the middle of the night we just have to roll over and sew away!

The machine is beautiful.  It has amazing detail work that modern sewing machines forgo for all the fancy functions.

And the cabinet itself is also great.  I have to say I'm pretty excited with our find!  Now we just need to carry it up the last flight of stairs to our bedroom.  That thing is heavy!
